The Lone Wolf Colony is a place for relaxing and rehabilitating your self at Pacific Bell. I was and is still supported by the Telephone Pioneers. I was able to store my RV there with hookups for a week and they did not charge me because it was not very busy. Now thats Cool!!!

Yesterday after fighting hard Kokomo last his battle with Cancer and a failing liver. The veterinary staff at Bainfield did all they could for him. Kokomo is now in heaven with Oliver and Pop feeling well again and waiting for the day we are all back together again. The Bible says all GODS creatures go to heaven. Kokomo led a good life and was loved by everyone that he ever saw or met, including the people in the Taco Bell parking lot in Butte MT the night he went for a walk-about when it was -10 outside. Some people say we spoil our dogs? We treat our dogs as what they are part of the family.

Kokomo traveled and flew on airplanes in his life more than most people do. he was born in northern California and was flown to Tucson, Arizona atthe grand old age of 5 weeks. After a couple of years he flew to Georgia and stayed a few years. The he made the 5 day drive to Whitehall MT then on to Butte to enjoy life in Big Sky Country.

Kokomo was Harold's traveling companion when he is away from home working and was living in California until he lost the battle for his life. We will never forget Kokomo he has touched our life in tremendous ways.

Kokomo, you are not in our past you are in our future. You are in good hands till we see you again

Funny thing happen this morning to Tira on the way to work. She was driving on the highway and heard a clunk noise. She called her husband Ray and pulled over to the side of the road. Kathie went and picked her and the boys up and gave her the jeep to use. The car was towed to the dealer.

Now here is the funny part. They found a wiring harness all chewed up. The clunk was the critter that ate it being tossed out of the engine compartment onto the road. Now the not funny part. Critters eating wiring harness is not covered under warranty …$1,500 to repair.

TASER GIFTING

This is one of those stories where you begin
to chuckle..then find yourself laughing
out loud. (Not to mention the tears that
come with the laughter)

Pocket Taser Stun Gun, a great gift for the
wife. A guy who purchased his lovely wife a
pocket Taser for their anniversary submitted
this.

Last weekend I saw something at Larry's
Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest.
The occasion was our 15th anniversary and I
was looking for a little something extra for
my wife Julie. What I came across was a
100,000-volt, pocket/purse-sized taser. The
effects of the taser were supposed to be
short lived, with no long-term adverse af
fect on your assailant, allowing her
adequate time to retreat to safety....

'WAY TOO COOL! Long story short, I bought
the device and brought it home.

I loaded 2 AAA batteries in the darn thing
and pushed the button. Nothing! I was
disappointed. I learned, however, that if I
pushed the button AND pressed it against a
metal surface at the same time; I'd get the
blue arc of electricity darting back and
forth between the prongs.

AWESOME!!!

Unfortunately, I have yet to explain to
Julie what that burn spot is on the face of
her microwave.

Okay, so I was home alone with this new toy,
thinking to myself that it couldn't be all
that bad with only 2 AAA batteries, right?

There I sat in my recliner, my cat Gracie
looking on intently (trusting little soul)
while I was reading the directions and
thinking that I really needed to try this
thing out on a flesh & blood moving target.

I must admit I thought about zapping Gracie
(for a fraction of a second) and thought
better of it. She is such a sweet cat. But,
if I was going to give this thing to my wife
to protect herself against a mugger, I did
want some assurance that it would work as
advertised. Am I wrong?

So, there I sat in a pair of shorts and a
tank top with my reading glasses perched
delicately on the bridge of my nose,
directions in one hand, and taser in
another.

The directions said that a one-second burst
would shock and disorient your assailant; a
two-second burst was supposed to cause
muscle spasms and a major loss of bodily
control; a three-second burst would
purportedly make your assailant flop on the
ground like a fish out of water. Any burst
longer than three seconds would be wasting
the batteries. All the while I'm looking at
this little device measuring about 5" long,
less than 3/4 inch in circumference; pretty
cute really and (loaded with 2 itsy, bitsy
AAA batteries) thinking to myself, "no
possible way!"
What happened next is almost beyond
description, but I'll do my best... I'm
sitting there alone, Gracie looking on with
her head cocked to one side as to say,
"don't do it Master," reasoning that a
one-second burst from such a tiny little ole
thing couldn't hurt all that bad. I decided
to give myself a one-second burst just for
heck of it. I touched the prongs to my naked
thigh, pushed the button, and ...

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD, WEAPONS OF MASS
DESTRUCTION!

I'm pretty sure Jessie Ventura ran in
through the side door, picked me up in the
recliner, then body slammed us both on the
carpet, over and over and over again.

I vaguely recall waking up on my side in the
fetal position, with tears in my eyes, body
soaking wet, both nipples on fire, testicles
nowhere to be found, with my left arm tucked
under my body in the oddest position, and
tingling in my legs.

The cat was standing over me making meowing
sounds I had never heard before, licking my
face, undoubtedly thinking to herself, "Do
it again, Stupid, do it again!"

Note: If you ever feel compelled to "mug"
yourself with a taser, one note of caution:
when you zap yourself!

You will not let go of that thing until it
is dislodged from your hand by a violent
thrashing about on the floor.

A three-second burst would be considered
conservative.

SON-OF-A-...That hurt like **%!!! A minute
or so later (I can't be sure, as time was a
relative thing at that point), I collected
my wits (what little I had left), sat up and
surveyed the landscape. My bent reading
glasses were on the mantel of the fireplace.
How did they get up there??? My triceps,
right thigh and both nipples were still
twitching. My face felt like it had been
shot up with Novocain, and my bottom lip
weighed 88 lbs. I'm still looking for my
testicles! I'm offering a
significant reward for their safe return!!
Still in shock!

P. S. My wife loved the gift, and now
regularly threatens me with it!

JULY 28TH I WAS IN AN EARTHQUACK

Now i remember why we left California and said we would never come back. I have been in every earthquack since 1953 and this one felt the worst. Everyone on the news said the same thing. I think the state government is hiding the real numbers because that was no 5.4 quake.

We were evacuated from work due to bldg damage and a gas leak. after standing in the sun for two hours we were finaly let in the bldg in an un-orderly pattern (rudest people first) You guessed it i was the second person in to get get my car keys and go home. 5 aftershock were felt last night at my house.

During one aftershoke kokomo jumped into my lap. Which isn't that funny considering he weighs 100 pounds

We finally had our reunion get together at Carlos house. it has been about 10 years since we all got together. Liz is married and has a son Alec 8 years old. Interesting the letters look familiar it is the acronym for A Local Exchange Carrier. Thats what happens when telecom gets into your blood. Carlos has twin boys age 7. I would list all the names but I am having a senior moment. Robert has a girl 7 and a boy 5. I am still having a senior moment. Lots of fun, food and frolicking in the pool. Then more food and liquids. It was a long day for me since it was hot out. We are planning another get together in the August time frame for an excursion to Catalina. Stay tune for information on the next party.

PS Robert can never pat me on the stomach again and talk about being in shape check out the picture of Robert when he got out of the pool with Carlos. His wife must be feeding him good or he has become a daddy couch potato.

News for April in California and Montana

Well, since I am being told I need to update what is going on with the family here goes. Yesterday Tira and Kathie drove Mitchel to Missoula to have his tonsils removed. They are driving back this morning. I have been working 10 to 12 hours a day on my new job and I think I am tired. I say that because I am to tired to think when I get home. Sunday it hit 100 degrees, it is only spring time. Koko said to say hello to everyone and tell them to send ice to lay on. Koko loves the cold not the heat. I have been running the air conditioning everyday since I arrived in California. I now have an 8O GB Video IPOD and some day I will figure out how to turn it on. It is boring being alone even though I have Koko with me. That is what will probably determine how long I actually work. I can not keep up the pace of working this many hours and then taking care of the dog, myself , the house and cooking. By the time i eat dinner I go to bed and in the morning I barley have enough time to make my lunch before i am out the door. with the commute time my work days are averaging 14-15 hours

Kathie is flying to California on the 19th for a week to spend time with her brother and his wife and to visit her dad because he just turned 80. Belated birthday visit. I really miss my times drinking coffee with Ralph and my friends in Whitehall.

I received a call from Cheri and she has had a miscarriage. Cherie's due date was to be the end of July. This has happened to her multiple times. This is devestating news for Cherie and gabe. Cherie has talked about wanting children since the day she could talk. It appears now that her only avenue left is a surrogate. I know that they are with heavy hearts and comments and prayers for them will be much appreciated. I have removed the prior post of her comments and pictures from 2 weeks ago.

Gor those of you wondering why you can not get a hold of me. i leave for work in the dark and get home in the dark. Sometimes I wonder if i am in the dark at work. Koko is getting used to being home alone. I was able to find carlos, Robert and Liz from the group at Ingram and we are going to get together, that should be a lot of fun. I also spoke to friends At at Solberg Adams i miss talking to them everyday,. i am sure they miss talking to me because now they talk to people that have no idea about what they are saying. It is 88 degrees today and Koko and i are sitting in front of the air conditioner. kathie said it weas 12 degrees this morning when she left the house in MT.

The drive took 21 hours to go 1100 miles. It was a long trip. the truck got 20.5 miles to the gallon and the grand am got 32.5 miles to the gallon. It was 76 degrees hotter in California than when I left Butte, MT. Getting settled in and putting everything away. Cherie and Gabe are coming over this wekend to help me finish getting things done and a barbecue. I guess i need to go get a barbecue, Huh. Koko is loving it no more looking over his shoulder to see if Donut is ready to attack him. He is so peaceful he lays around with his good eye down which means he is fair game if something come nears him. We play catch with his football and take walks. Monday morning is work and i am so anxious to get started. I am figuring 1 1/2 to drive to work in the morning 35 miles. That equates to 20 minutes in Butte

FIRST DAY OF DRIVE TO CALIFORNIA

Unbelievable. Never believe a Montana weather person. Sunday night we had 4 inches of snow and on Monday it snowed all day and dropped another 8 inches. you guessed it. The first 200 miles we drove in a snow storm. Being good Montanans we were able to maintain do to 55 miles an hour. The freezing fog was another story slowed everyone to a crawl about 20 foot visibility. Long story short the 10 hour drive to St George took 14.5 hours. Should arrive in Ontario California this afternoon. more later
